Author Topic: What is the AiO mod? (Old blockland nostaliga thread!)  (Read 14236 times)

(No that's not me in the first picture)

Bricks were tools back then?
What's edit mode?

There was no brick menu so all the bricks were in your inventory basically.
And edit mode means you hit something with the editor wand and could then proceed with stretching and rotating and moving it.

old blockland you couldn't use more then 1500 bricks before your supercomputer would blow up.
so you had to stretch and tilt bricks into shapes needed to make things.
was super buggy and laggy game.

Yes Bricks where tools. Edit Mode is the Editor Wand witch can be used to Make Elevators,Teleporters,Move Bricks, and more
Oh, so all these other mods died out by the time retail blockland was released?
MBM(Max4344's Blockland Mod) is not dead and Still in development
Also The Orange Block(Its Just TDM and DTB in one game) is Still Alive

Stretching and tilting bricks would be awesome!
Why did they remove such a feature?
People looked like lego characters back then.

because stretching was a fix to get around the low brick count.
current blockland is a properly scripted game that dont have lag or limits.

Why did they remove such a feature?
Cause it was laggy, buggy, and pretty much made v0002 into a modeling program.

It made the trust system less effective since someone would just tilt their brick into your build.

People looked like legos since it was a third party lego game.  It was removed since you can't sell a game with materials of other companies without their permission, and thus.  Lego offered to buy the game and offer baddy a spot in lead design, he refused and changed the look of the game, and thus.  Retail was born.

Actually Lego never contacted him again after asking or something like that.

Damn you! I was going to say that...

Yeah, I think I read a thread about that, I think it was posted in February of '06 or so.

if badspot had gone with lego, he might have been put in charge of a team to make the lego MMO.
that's likely what they were hunting around for at that time.

of course now, they gave the project to that one company i cant remember the name.

but he turned them down because they wouldn't have gave him as much creative control as he wanted.
or something like that, forgot how that all ended up.

Probably just deleted accounts.

If anybody wants AiO: http://www.filefront.com/15781279/AiO-r-v.3.1.exe/

AiO was a very popular mod for vanilla blockland created (I believe) by a friend called "Lanhoj". It had quite a few features, like an in-game chatroom, a bunch of stuffty maps, and more.

I liked those days.

But The Orange Block is the best vanilla mod.  :cookieMonster:

(in my opinion)
