Author Topic: Fusing xbox 360 and laptop?  (Read 2811 times)

its a dumb idea because the 360's processor loving sucks.
like.... sucks

the ps3's cell processor would be sweets though.
its like x30 the power of even the best PC processors.

your sir are a stupid man. the best pc processors can be x2 better than ps3 processors. its just that you have to build them yourself.

lol

also lol'd at how you openly insulted bisjac

I highly doubt that.

7 cells (NOT cores) of 1.8 TFLOPS

that's like the 12th most powerful (publically known) computing on earth.

there isn't anything close to that you can possibly put into a PC.
and no, terraflops does not accurately convert to your pc standard gigahertz.
if you see such specs they are wrong.

terraflops are a different unit of measurement for multiple processors (different then multiple cores)
the kind used for SUPERCOMPUTERS.

Frankly, the ps3's cell processor is grossly wasted on the ps3.

so no sir, YOU are an idiot

so no sir, YOU are an idiot
I never called you an idiot :o

oh wait that's directed toward megiaman

there been yahoo articles posted before here about state university's using ps3 with custom software to run mass data for them.
they are cheaper then the massive servers normally needed.

ps3 game developers are only allowed to use 4 cells for developing games.
1 for system running, 1 for backup in case of a failed cell, and others for whatever.

that machine is a godsend technology. its a shame its not made for PC

Yeah. but you can make PC Processors just as good as the ps3s and not use as much Failure. Damage unable to start up. overusage of power. etc. and now gg

Basically, don't even try to put a 360 processor on a laptop. wether or not it fits, don't do it. just buy a computer with a better processor. Besides, wouldn't a 360 processor not work on a computer because they are designed for different things?

You're arguing with possibly the smartest person on these forums.  You can't expect to win.

you're giving him too much credit, bisjac is smart but hes not god.

i wasnt aware there was a ps3 stereotype or joke about failures.

you sure you are not talking about the 360?

ive heard of already existing PC processors crapping out far more then the ps3 one

and since the ps3 is multiple processors, NOT a single multi core one.
you would need many many MANY processors to keep up with a ps3.
more then any existing PC motherboard can even hold.

ITT: Megiaman makes a fool of himself because he thinks he knows about the hardware of a PS3

I think he want's a laptop with Xbox360 hardware.

Console's are basically computers with a Xbox or Playstation OS on them.

ill just end this fight. i had 1 ps3. i sent it to sony. i got told it was a hardware failure.
