What are you guys' summer reading assignments?

Mine are:
  • The Chocolate War - no idea what plotline is about, read 3 chapters today and its forgetboring. Note that this is my only "mandatory" book.
  • The Forgotten 500 - chose this one because seemed interesting and is about american troops in world war 2.
  • The Hunger Games - chose this one because seemed interesting and is about apocalyptic situation (i believe, thats what i can tell from reading the back cover)

edit: forgot to mention i have to write a book review on each book i read.

discuss

also, inb4"i'm not out of school yet."

What grade are you going into?

8th grade. Why?
I'm going into 10th and I still haven't been required to read a book over the summer yet.

I have to read "Of Mice and Men" which my teacher said was a short book

I've read the Hunger Games, I couldn't put it down. it isn't quite apocalyptic, but it's very good anyway.

BUT IT'S ABOUT A GIRL SBHJBSGL

No summer reading.

I'm reading The Wrecker by Cussler. I have to read 2 mandatory children's' books and write a sentence or two about them. Its really not very good idea to have 7th graders reading books I could read in second grade(I'm gifted, forget ya).

Some Sherlock Holmes story which I already read (awesome)
I only have to read through it once and then im done
