Author Topic: Blender, Milkshape, or Wings 3D?  (Read 6754 times)

I have seen a lot of new mod-makers lately, making exceptionally good add-ons. And they use a whole bunch of different modeling techniques. I was just wondering which one of the 3 was better.

Blender.
Milkshape.
Wings 3D.

The different programs are for different sorts of people:

Milkshape is definitely easier to use at first, but it costs money.

Blender can be hard and confusing, but if you get the hang of it it can be EXTREMELY powerful.  Like, professional quality.  And it's free.

Like Blender, Wings 3D is free, but I don't know how powerful or not it is.  From what I hear, it's similar to Blender in quality, though it may or may not have a steep learning curve.

When it comes down to it, it's really up to the user.  It's not like there's any one "best" type.

Well, I'm just saying that it wouldn't hurt to explain why.

3DS Max and Milkshape 3D for exporting to Blockland.

Like, directly to .dts?

Without any other files to add on?

Wings 3D or Milkshape 3D over Blender anyday.
I recently have been using Wings 3D for modeling, and then importing the model into Milkshape for final touches.

Which one could do the best for animations and models.

Like you know, low poly yet good models, like the default gun.

Which one could do the best for animations and models.

Milkshape 3D for me.

Wings 3D thus far has impressed me with the features I wanted from Blender, with the simplicity of Milkshape 3D (though takes a bit more to learn then Milkshape, not as hard as Blender.).

What kind of final touches are good in Milkshape?

Also, are there any good tutorials for Wings 3D, cause I currently use that.

I've used it for animation, joints, and materials.
The plain model was done in Wings 3D.

I personally did not use any tutorials, I just figured it out.
But the website has a tutorial page: http://www.wings3d.com/tutorials.php

Sorry, for the late post. My internet cut off.

Also, Milkshape cost 30$ right?
