Author Topic: Blockland Cloud; and why it's bullstuff.  (Read 18684 times)

RTB's redundancy architecture is something I thought about in the beginning but figured it wasn't really something necessary to spend money on, especially since RTB has no income. All the add-ons are backed up daily and stored in a bunch of locations so we're not going to lose any files, it's just a problem of server downtime. The Blockland auth server doesn't even have any redundancy as far as I know, and that's far more critical than RTB so I can't see how a good case for RTB having it would ever be made.

Since RTB serves files through server-side script, I'd also need to have those on Kalphiter's server and he'd need read access to the RTB database. Both of those are ideas I probably won't consider given the code theft that's already been taking place.

In general, I just don't like people killing good old add-ons.

As for the waste of time, that's Kalphiter's time, not ours. We are in no position to tell him what he should do with his spare time.
If someone bakes you a cake, you can tell them what type of cake you want.

So basically, he could make this entire mod, but it'd be useless?

Sorry, I don't know about you, but here we do something called eating and have errands.

Wait, people eat?

Do I look like a Kalphiter?
Of course not. You're missing the tail.

Of course not. You're missing the tail.
And the horns.

Your trying to shoot down a mod that hasnt been made yet. So what if he has a few bits of code from RTB? Like he said in the original topic, how can it go further if it cant compete?

Because it's quality and where the coding came from isn't the only point made against it.
