Author Topic: What is a .dsq?  (Read 1126 times)

I don't know the acronym, but it is a player animation file.

I see. So, how do I make them?

They are animations.
I believe they are certain types of animation files.

I believe when exporting to .dts, you need to set them as separate .dsq sequences when exporting. But, that might be wrong, and only work for weapons/vehicles.

Its not wrong, theres an option in blender. With DSQ's, you need to add extra code to make the animations load up so they'll work but I believe its the ONLY way to do a player model. It can be used for weapons/vehicles/etc, but its unecessary and simpler to export it in the DTS itself.

So, if I wanted to edit the way my players arm moves, I would use a .dsq file?

Exactly.

Really its just a compiled sequence for a model that is seperated out of the model itself for organizational reasons.

I looked on torque's tutorials, its a dumped sequence file. Thats what the acronym means.
