Religion is a way of finding comfort. It is a source of security. A holder of tradition. An expression of Faith. I must agree, some people use religion as a shield to the fear of what is beyond. Though some use it to better there lives here as well as the lives around them. Some people use it to find something. Religion itself is a tool in life; something that can be used to help or hurt, only the possessor decides. Religion helps guide Faith. And as much as everybody needs Faith - Faith in something; anything really; that thing keeps you going. That burning ember that never fades. Faith in God, in Love, in knowledge, in tomorrow, in people, ect. - you don't need religion to express it. A person can be just as Loving and caring without religion as one with it.

And I think your chart is wrong. There are way more Jews than that. They have, like, 1/6th of the world's population. :c

Religion wars are loving stupid and I hate anyone who gets involved. There's other stuff to do.

And you're not going to make a difference at all whining on a forum.
Religion discussions can be quite nice, though. c:

Fair enough, but that could be said with absolutely anything on a forum.
You don't make a difference when you discuss a game or a YouTube video or anything else.
We're here to talk about what ever we want. This time we're talking about religion.

I don't want to respect somebody if they run around cutting off peoples heads because they did not accept Allah.

I don't want to respect somebody if they run around cutting off peoples heads because they did not accept Allah.

Or killing their own family members because they'd rather watch the World Cup than worship.

Yes, it happened.

Or starting a freakin Crusade

Then you can respect the people who believe in Islam who don't go cutting the heads off of others.
It should also be noted that other religions have fought and killed those who don't share the same views.
Christians did it majorly so throughout most of Medieval and Renaissance Europe.

I don't want to respect somebody if they run around cutting off peoples heads because they did not accept Allah.
lol. Also: Terrorists are people who are brainwashed to think that they will be rewarded with 72 virgins if they kill themselves and kill people who do not worship god.

Or killing their own family members because they'd rather watch the World Cup than worship.

Yes, it happened.

humans are forgeted up

Or starting a freakin Crusade

wuts a crusade :3

"discussions"

Most religious "discussions" are full of contradictions

Religious person: LIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE MAX, ALSO BE IN CHURCH ON SUNDAY OR YOU'LL BURN FOR ETERNITY
n/Religious person: YOU'RE BEING A HYPOCRITE THERE. YOU SEE THAT THERE IS NO PROOF GOD IS REAL. SO THAT MEANS I AM AUTOMATICALLY RIGHT.

as far as I see they're both starfishs

Can't argue with that I guess.

Also, most religious people are actually not that bad, it's just extremists get noticed more therefore create the stereotype.

Hooray for generalizations.

I'm not religious but I think there could be a god/gods. Actually I'm currently leaning towards polytheism. At least the polytheistic religions give reasons for the things that happen around them not just, "because god wills it to be so." I consider the priests and priestesses of old to be early scientists. Instead of just accepting things they came up for reasons why those things happened. One religion believed that what we call gravity was some god that pulled us back to earth when we left the ground. THey used their limited knowledge and applied it to the world around them, I have great respect for them.

Hooray for generalizations.
It is what most of these types of topics will be based around though.
There's no way around people generalizing. It's much easier to mention the few sections of a view that make something appear really great or really bad.
It's also much easier to use extremists as the case for an entire religion than it is to actually get all the information and facts from various sections of a religion.

Sir Dooble is taking everything I want to say and wording it better.

Early people didn't have a world cup to want to watch and kill their parents, though!

People think I'm Jewish because I'm really white in real life because my mother is Irish.

Or starting a freakin Crusade
almost every religion has started some form of a crusade, one of the few exceptions I can think of is the Jews, they keep to themselves mostly, an don't want to convert people because based on their history they are all related through Abraham and stuff.
