He was going on about how it's for "japs" and how he's a bigot American giving the US quite the bad image.

Banning people permanatly is dumb

I only ban permanently, and for the following reasons:
-Their intentions were not to be a constant nuisance, and I'll think about unbanning them in the future. This is something I can't put a timer on.
or
-They intended to be a problem and would likely repeat offense after their ban time is over. Saves trouble just to perma ban.
