Author Topic: Best low priced graphics card?  (Read 4002 times)

I am seeing Nividia fanboys all over this thread!

Suggesting an nvidia card != fanboyism. Get over yourself.

Already said my computer can't support a 9800, doesn't have 2 PCI slots.
what, you don't need two PCI-e slots. It just fills the same space as two PCI-e slots, not actually two slots.
You just need one PCI-express 2.0 x16, and actually I think you can run with a 1.0 aswell, I forgot.

Already said my computer can't support a 9800, doesn't have 2 PCI slots.

...wat

It uses one slot. If two are directly adjacent to each other it might cover one but it doesn't need two slots.

Last time I read about the 9800 it said it required two PCI-E slots. I was mistaken, I guess. Well, I have a question, if my computer can support an 8400 would it be able to support the 9800?

Rolling with the 5770 right now so i can crossfire it down the road with another.

for some ~$60 more than you budget it gets the job done - or grab the 5750 like you mentioned earlier

Radeon HD 4550.

Balanced between performance and price.

Considering buying an ATI 5750, looks like it's pretty good. Any way I could see if it's compatible

I too, was looking into that card.  Go on Newegg and look at its technical details.  If yours match to a good extent, it's highly likely that the card is compatible.

Another advantage of the 5750 is its relatively low power consumption.  16W idle, 86W peak.

If you need some insight as to whether you can meet that requirement, Antec has a PS calculator on their website.

EDIT: If your PS supports the extra 20W needed for thde 5770, go for it..,,
