It's pretty much a small step up from my current PSU. Is it really necessary? My PSU already has a 12V rail at 25 Amps.
It's the PSU I have and it's rock solid and has really nice, high quality cables in little mesh sleeves for superior cable management.

wat...

they run more efficient than what? and cooler than what? Fermi cards are supposedly hot... not cool.

Also when you're going for gaming perfomance what's with the i7? Get the i5 instead, cheaper and just as good when gaming.

More energy efficient and cooler than the GTX 200 series...?

I'm building a desktop thats supposed to last me a very long time, and I think more games will start to be using quad cores in the next 3-4 years.

I'm not too pleased with my computer. It could use some updating.

You can't run CS:S, my old attic computer that has a Geforce 7800 GT can run that. Yes you should upgrade.

I've never tried. It has the same requirements as TF2 and TF2 runs very well, but they're different games so I'm not sure.

That's weird. I can run CSS fine on the 7800 but not TF2, maybe it's RAM or something, last time I tried it had 1GB(I found 1 GB RAM stick on Monday and put it in, so it has 2GB now.)

Or the CPU.

I honestly don't know. I'd have to turn it, my parents are asleep and it's loud as forget because I haven't cleaned all the dust out of it yet.

All I can say is it's about a 3-4 year old CPU everything.

Don't get the i7, just get a i5.

Not true at all. 400 series is just more powerful.

FTFY

Lets go with that then.

And like I said this system is supposed to be lasting me a long time, I don't want a Core i5 dual core BS.

im surprised nobody has said "delete system32" since this is nick's thread. :cookieMonster:

edit:
not very computer-savvy but i believe your computer would run faster than mine.

Hell it would.

A Core i7 + 6GB RAM + GTX 460.

That's way more powerful than the average user in Blockland.
