No, the top fell over but it could still be a dream because what was keeping the top going was the memory of his wife, who he let go of so it can fall over now

I saw it last night... Made my brain hurt but nonetheless, 9.5/10.

Ending pissed me off because it didn't have 100% closure though.

Think about physics.  In real life, perpetual motion is impossible, so it would fall over eventually.  In the dream world, physics goes to stuff and it could spin forever. 

He said it wouldn't topple if he was in his dream.

I really enjoyed it. Definitely made me question a lot of things.

Personally, I wish it was possible to do what they did. Although it seems kind of silly, being stuck in a dream world like that would give you infinite possibilities.
