Author Topic: Is there a way to play my Xbox360 on a laptop? (Read 1552 times)

So, Monday I'm going camping, not really camping in a trailer, and I am wondering if I can play my 360 on the laptop. The laptop has an HDMI port and I have HDMI for my 360. What program would I need to use the laptop as a screen?

The HDMI port on your laptop is for output, not input. The only way to get your Xbox 360 to display on your laptop screen is with a capture card, but the delay would make it unplayable.

I don't think it is possible, that HDMI port on the laptop is an output from the graphics card and graphics cards don't work backwards.

Aw, crap. Our old laptop had this wierd input we had used for our ps2 a few years ago. So I was hoping that was an input.

Our only flatscreen is a 26 inch tv. I might be taking it if the camper doesn't have a tv. But it would be a pain to use in the back of a truck.

Do what my dad did on our New York trip, buy a nice TV, small for this time, from Best Buy, then return it later at a different Best Buy when you're done.

One, if you really can't live without it thats a little sad and two there isn't much power out there in the wilderness.
