How do I save an edited script?

I know how to get in to scripts and change them to the way I want, I just can't save them.  I open notepad and search the files in the addon I want to change the script, change it then try to save it, but it say can't be saved.

Or extract the file, edit the script from the extracted file then put the edited file into the .zip.

ok cool, also, where is the animation part of the script, you know where you have to put the animation with the movement, I'm trying to see if I can change the animation for the jump.
