Hm, where to begin. Well, some of you may remember the topic I made about my
car accident. About a week ago I got the car back from the body shop. They put on a new hood, bumper, side fender, headlight, and they realigned the front. All the parts were polished and the car looked shiny new, like it never even happened. It all together cost me $1,500. A small price to pay for what I thought would be the end of this issue.
Soon after getting the car back I noticed the headlights were out of alignment, the horn was incredibly weak, and the engine tended to get hotter than normal. So I took to car back to my mechanic. I figured he could fix the remaining problems since the body shop doesn't normally deal with mechanical issues. So the mechanic realigned the lights, put in a new horn, and plugged the car into a computer which looked for any other mechanical issues. It found none. I just got the car back yesterday.
Today I noticed the horrible grinding sound occurring in the engine when I make turns. It sounded like two pieces of metal rubbing against each other. So I took it back to the mechanic
once again and he told me the sound is coming from a motor mount which has gone bad. A motor mount is designed to let the engine move gradually, but not to much. Their are two motor mounts which hold the engine in place. Surely enough when you rev the engine the entire engine moves way to much. Their is also a visible crack in the motor mount.
(For those of you not familiar with cars this is a motor mount.) This could probably cost another $350-$500 to fix. Just what I need.
Cars are just so fun.
