Author Topic: I hate how slow my computer is.  (Read 1499 times)

Alright, im going to make this a short rant.

So last night, i felt i would install the settlers 6 demo to see if the game would work on my computer, and first of all, getting it to download the website took about an hour.

Next, i tried to run the EXE, devestated to see that it froze my computer, so i waited 5 minutes, still frozen.

It turns out that it took around 10 minutes for my computer to become responsive again, upon then, it started extracting the installer, and then, my whole computer froze, and i had to shut it down.

I tried this 3 times, and every time it did the same thing, 10 minute freeze wait, followed by crash.

ON the fourth time, i finally got the installer to work, and it got on my computer.

THe time was 3 o clock when it finished, and i went to bed, to play in the morning.

I wake up in the morning to find that my computer login file was corrupt, so i had to use system restore to bring it back to my last working restore point.

So yeah, all that hard work i did last night was lost.

Im going to ask this: Why does it take 15 loving minutes to open the installer?
Its a 1.3GB installer, and it freezes the open window when i double click it to run it.

EDIT: No, this isnt about pirating, its about installing the Settlers 6 Demo

My computer is 10 years old, and I'm not complaining :cookieMonster:

Where did you download it from?

Your computer seems to be broken.

Get a new computer.

Send me money for one.

Your computer seems to be broken.

It would seem that way.  Do you know any way to fix it?

The most I can do is make stuffty jokes. So unless your computer enjoys cheap comedy, no.

I gave up on uninstalling EA games because my PC simply takes too long to validate the uninstaller. So I just delete the game folder which I know is wrong to do, but I don't care really.

It isnt EA, its ubisoft

Both of them use same/similar crappy installer/uninstaller. I do same for most Ubisoft games.

If you have a sucky computer then why would you download a game?

Title and
getting it to download the website took about an hour.

Downloading from websites depends on your internet speed and their server speed, not computer speed.
