Author Topic: My gun is placed randomly...  (Read 2360 times)

Something's wrong with my gun! I just finished it, and tested it, but something happened and it's not in my hand, it's facing the wrong way and the colors are wrong (completely gray). Help?

Pictures:

1. Did you include Texture.pngs with the same name as the ones set in the modeling program?
2. Did you set textures in the modeling program?
3. Did you include the mountPoint joint/bone in the modeling program?
4. Is the weapon facing the right way in the program?

Also, What modeling program do you use? if you use Milkshape, i can walk you through it...

Did you modify a preexisting weapon's script? If so, it could have been one with a really weird offset. If that's not it, then it's a model problem.

As far as textures, forgetting to place the textures in the same folder is all I can think of.

I have it fixed and it sits in my hand but it's always tilted wrong. I used Sketchup, exported the model to .3ds and then through Blender, into .dts

The offset is now fine, it sits on top of my hand now though, either laying down on it's side or upside down etc.

Pictures attached.

That thing looks really ugly.

You shouldn't release it.

Dude. What has that got to do with helping me? It's meant to look like this.

Your model is turned the wrong direction

Are you using Google SketchUp? Try adding a joint/bone to the handle of the weapon and name it mountPoint

Your modal is turned the wrong way, turn the entire modal so that the muzzle is going along the green line.

/facepalm

It's in Blender too. I only used the picture from Sketchup to show the colours, it's harder to in the Blender Render:

Send me the model I can't export but I can fix the random rotation

Ok... PMing it to you now
