Some people like realism. That's why games like ArmA and mods like Project Reality exist. Of course complaining about the lack of realism in Call of Duty is like complaining about wheat in bread.

1. The Shotgun
A lot of people think that a shotgun is magically a close-range only weapon, and only effective at about 5 feet. Wrong wrong wrong WRONG. Movies and stuff also COMPLETELY ignore the fact that MOST, if not all hunting shotguns/Civilian shotguns are RIFLED and fire SLUGS, not SHOT. CAPS.

A shotgun using shot (bird or buckshot) is still lethal for quite a ways (otherwise how the forget would you shoot birds with it), and keep in mind that it's a long-barreled gun, it really isn't a CQC weapon. Even "militarized" shotguns don't behave in this manner. You MIGHT be able to achieve that effect if you cut down the barrel on a break-action shotgun, but it'd have to be so short the goddamn thing would break off your hand, and that leads us to #2:

Well I meant something like an armoured vehicle.  If you shot a BMD as you do in SpecOps on MW2, you shouldn't be able to destroy it with only one RPG.

It also depends on the location of contact and explosion.

It will probably forget it up so that it can't run anymore, but it won't go flying, that just hollywood stuff.

It's possible of the grenade lands under an exposed gas tank.
