10. No pyramid/referral schemes  -  No one is going to give you money or an iPod/flatscreeen monitor/xbox 360/whatever just for getting people to click on some crappy link.  It's a scam to get you to spam forums for them.  Stop posting this crap.
Enjoy your ban.

I'm not getting you guys to click some crappy link.

It leads somewhere, there is just an ad before it.

Alright, this topic seems like the right place to ask this (?).

I want to know if this computer will be alright for what I need it for

With this added graphics card (To work with the one that comes with the computer) http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5680844&CatId=3668

Basically I just want to have a casual gaming/all around PC

Nothing too high-end.

Hmm.

Well for the processor It seems okay. It's not to great though. What kind of games are you looking to run?

General Nick said this:
Single Core: 3.0+ GHz
Dual Core: 2.5+ GHz
Quad Core: 2.2+ GHz

Which I find pretty dead on. And the one you are looking at in that is a Dual Core 2.6 Hhz.

For the video card, 8500. I would suggest putting up a little more money. Maybe around 50-70 instead of 30. Maybe for a lower end 200 series or a 9800 possibly. I can't entirely look into it now though.

It's a GeForce 8500 GT working with a GeForce 8200

I'm not trying to sound like I know what I'm talking about, I'm just making sure you knew that.

Oh, and I'm just thinking about playing games like TF2, HL2, Blockland, etc.

Ok Ephi.

I do appreciate you removing them instead of banning me.

I really do.

I would like this topic to continue as an overall computer topic though.

Ephialtes can't ban, so your fate remains a mystery

I just built my newest rig, Core i7 2.8 GHz, 6GB RAM, mobo, GTX 460 everything all that jazz.

forgetin hell. I can't get Windows 7 on my thumbdrive to boot. fuuuuuck.

Edit: Nevermind, booting up W7 installation now. For some reason this motherboard considers a USB device with a burned .iso as a hard drive. What.

Ok, So who knows the difference between AMD and Intel.

I personally find AMD much more fun. For no reason whatsoever.

What are the ups and downs of each?

I like Intel more because they're top notch quality.

AMD is cheaper but only because they resell CPUs that have one core locked/not working (hence why they have triple cores).

This wasn't a pyramid scheme, it was a referral scheme.

But overall, if it was a new AMD CPU and a new Intel, both 6 core, Both 3.0 Ghz.

Which should I choose?
