Author Topic: People who abuse the bike routes on streets.  (Read 981 times)

So I was walking back from my local burger joint, and I see a lady trying to pull out her minivan from her parking spot. Now, the street she was parked on was also a bike route. All of a sudden, some guy comes blazing out of nowhere on his bicycle, and got his back tire clipped by the front of the minivan. All he says is "You should really check your blind spots, lady" and pedals off. It's like, wtf, just because you're on a bike doesn't mean you can ignore general rules of safety.

stuff, bro.

isn't it a rule that cars can't park of streets with a bike lane ?

Yeah

Its also a rule that you need 2 people to be in a car pool lane in California, but I see people driving solo when i take trips down there

If so, then everyone in my town should have a parking ticket.

Gah, I hate cyclists.
Or atleast, all the ones where I live.
A lot of the streets have cycle-lanes next to them, yet people on bikes will decide against using those designated areas and will either ride down the middle of the road, dangerously, considering there are a lot of twists and turns on these roads. I've even seen cars come inches from hitting cyclists as they go around a corner because the idiot cyclist is going stupidly fast usualy in the centre of the lanes.
Or they will cycle down the absolute thinnest walk ways and yell at the people who are actually walking on them, because they're too stupid to go around or use the actual cycle-lanes made for people on bikes!
It's these people who I absolutely hate with a passion.
