Driving is pretty damn awesome, but driving a stick shift is ten times better. Does anyone else here drive stick?

I wanna drive your stick shift...

My uncle in El Salvador used to have a stick shift truck. Whenever we would drive, he'd let me change gears. :D

Yes!

For work I drive around a RAM 1500 and several large trucks. It's cool for long drives because it keeps you on your toes.

Today was my first day out. There was plenty of lurching and lugging, but I only stalled out the engine two or three times when I was out of the parking lot that I learned in.

Honestly though, I did not expect getting the car moving and the engine engaged to be such an involved process. I thought the difficult stuff would be shifting but the annoying stuff is getting the engine engaged and throttling up at the same time and in good balance.

We only have stick shift over here :o

Do you downshift through all the gears when approaching a stop?

Driving is for people who don't live in their moms basement.

You silly people with dreams.

Doesn't skipping too many gears forget something up over a long period?

What is it with teenage boys and driving stick shifts? For some reason my brother really love driving stick, even though he says it's annoying as hell :|

Yeah, try to. At least one of the times I stalled out, though, I know that I was in second gear.

Because it's really loving cool. You have a lot more control over how the car drives and it's cool if you can do it flawlessly.

Cars are just boxes with wheels to me.
