Author Topic: The Pinky Toe  (Read 2725 times)

Earlier today, I stubbed my pinky toe pretty hard. It's swollen and all, but I'll be fine.

Anyways, this got me thinking...

What has my pinky toe ever done for me? It's only caused me pain and suffering.

What the heck is the pinky toe for?

/discuss

Chop it off if it's so useless

But then I might start stubbing my um... ring toe?

Keeps you balanced.

How? I know that my big toe does that.

Can't you balance without it?

Keeps you balanced.

I've heard that we wouldn't be able to stand up straight if it weren't for pinky toes... I doubt it, though.

The pinky toe allows you that much more mobility

Just like when people say your appendix is useless, it actually does something with digestion

Or at least I think so...

But I've seen a person missing three toes walk fine. (Pinky, ring, and index)

The pinky toe is not necessary to walk, but it allows you that much more mobility in some cases.

Every human bodypart does something we know or don't know about.

We eventually find out.

Man, those chest cavities.
So useless.

Essentially, it's a spare part left over from evolution.
Like general body parts that aren't really required, like the Appendix and Wisdom Teeth.
They would have been required I guess in a past variation of our species but are no longer required now.

All my pinky toe does is bleed. I should stop picking the nail off.

spock has less appendixes that one, and no problems with digestion.

Someone want to like, confirm this by posting a source, or are we just spouting random bullstuff?
