Author Topic: Biologically enhanced super soldiers  (Read 3013 times)

   Notice the date:
So I was bored and decided to look this up. I noticed the first result was 3 Billion project something, I decided to click on it without thinking and it took me to a web page.
Unlike the spartan project from ancient Greece, a company decided to shorten the time by building technologically altered soldiers on superdrugs.

A major focus is on helping the soldier’s body to better deal with trauma and damage. One such is the “pain vaccines” coming out of a program at Rinat Neuroscience [Pfizer acquired Rinat Neuroscience in 2006]. Researchers are hopeful these “will block the sense of pain for almost a month,” describes DARPA’s Michael Goldblatt.

The substance does is block intense pain in less than 10 seconds. Its effects last for 30 days. It doesn’t stifle your reactions. If you touch a hot stove, you still have the initial shock; your hand will still automatically jerk away. But after that, the torment is gone. The product works on the inflammatory response that is responsible for the majority of subacute pain. If you get shot, you feel the bullet, but after that, the inflammation and swelling that trigger agony are substantially reduced. The company has already hit its first milestones in animal testing and is preparing reports for scientific conferences.

If the enemy doesn't know, they can torture, and torture you. They'll never get you to answer, that is if they can catch you running and shooting at 30mph(lol).

Or we could have robot soldiers that are immune to bullets and fire

 We can't do that yet.

Its just flesh and blood at this point and for the next 500 years probably.

Conflict these days is mostly terrorism, the days of professional soldiers fighting one another are gone.

Yes, when is the last time we drank our last drink and went out the door with our spears glad to die.

Why, I did that just last night!

For some reason, I think of Nathan Hale.

we can already do that. its just an issue of spending the money.

I mean like self aware robots with stability, so they can run quickly and not fall over.

That's closer to 10 or 20 years.

We already have human robots that can walk and talk and stand up, and we already have AI programs, I'm not sure how implemented the AI is though.

And taking away pain is a dangerous thing to do, it's the signal of your body that tells you you should stop doing whatever you're doing. Bend my finger back into it breaks off? My body doesn't feel anything, so I should do it!

 I've thought about this too.

If a set of people called the LEGO Company in Denland (Wait, where again?) can make a Mindstorm set that KIDS and adults can mess with enough to tick off their brothers and sisters, why not adults make Super Robot Soldiers? Hey, could become catchy, SRS. I just don't want it to become too bad like SRS robots all over the USA, mess up, and have a skirmish with us. I also wouldn't like being held down the rest of my life by robots protecting us from the 'dangers' of other people.

Now china can't take america over.

All I'd have to do is throw him in my pool.
