If you are using an Nvidia GPU (Graphics card), go into the Nvidia control panel via the icon on your taskbar, go into 3D settings, go to Adjust image settings with preview, select Use my preference emphasising if it isn't already selected and finally, move the slider to the far right to set it to Quality, rather than Performance.

To state the obvious, the "ugly lines" you speak of are the lines on the brick texture. They're hardly ugly at all.
