isn't it supposed to be big and two-handed

also the new two-handed sword model should resemble the one used in the intro battle to dark cloud 2 (skip to about 5 minutes in)
also depicted here

sorry I couldn't get any decent quality depictions :c

PS that game is the best game ever

clubs are one handed, and you wave them.

also, the battlehammer's main fire should do an arc, but the secondary fire should cause the user to hold it in the air for about half a second before swinging it straight down and instaforgetsmashing whatever it hits.

clubs are one handed, and you wave them.
what's the point of another one-handed smashing weapon, besides, there's a weapon called a kanabo that both strongly resembles that model and could be large and require two hands.

well, I mean, variety doesn't hurt.

I think clubs and maces could be on the same upgrade tree or something

because you know, upgrade equipment trees would be so awesome.

You start with a baton-like weapon, just a wooden pole with maybe a weight on top

you can upgrade to a club or a mace

club can upgrade to a kanabo

mace to a flail ?
flail would be pretty cool.

Perhaps it is stated somewhere in this topic and i just missed it, but i noticed you are going to have armor?

Perhaps it's an idea to let the player spawn with an empty body (no nodes like armor or hats or anything) and use the nodes to simulate armor?
This could work better then making new armor pieces and equipping them.
Also, like i said before, bots tend to have the problem of not being able to equip something on a different mountpoint, like the Playerimages of the spellpack.
So it would work better with bots too!

It's just a thought and perhaps you were allready doing that, but yeah, just saying.

So then what will animation do? Blockland was just plain not meant for two handed weapons.

I've come up with a stick and a wooden club

The second one looks...thin like too straight n stuff

Yes that's because it is a pole and a pole is usually long and thin.

I was thinking that the wooden stick could be the very first level melee weapon, maybe tier 2 could be the wooden club(levels up into the kanabo), a stick with a weight on it(levels up into the mace), and a shorter stick with a crude blade on it(levels up into either the daggers or sword).

Duh? .-.
You can attach hands to it and animate them with it, like the two-handed sword.

but hands = 1 color = bad :[

make the hands black or something, gloves?

anyways, we're discussing upgrade trees right now. I'm pretty excited, I'm thinking we should have a seperate tree for each damage type (stabbing, slashing, beating, ranged, magic, holy)

EDIT: now with added permanent

Did you forget to bridge the mace and kanabo?
