My free norton virus protection from Comcast

It's detecting, like, every single file I had. I made a game with GameMaker 7 and it detected it as a virus. The garry's mod SWEP maker detected it as a virus.
Everything worked perfectly fine before, then I got norton. How do I prevent norton from deleting all my good programs?!

If I uninstall it, I won't have protection, and my computer will die. And Comcast doesn't support McAfee anymore, that's what I had before, so I'd have to buy it, and I'm not doing anything illigal.

Mainstream antivirus programs are never very good, Norton and McAffee are absolutely terrible programs, as opposed to AVG which isn't nearly as frustrating.
