The past few days, we've been noticing that our cat has been more lethargic, sleeping a lot more, and she hardly ventures off the property anymore. Honestly, I'm not that sad considering that she's not really my cat. We used to have a dog. One day, he heard meowing in a bush and found a little kitten. He came into the house carrying the cat by the scruff of the neck. Several years later, my dog's health deteriorated and he died.
My mom estimates that she probably only has a couple days left and she's most likely reached that time in her life where she sits around, waiting for something to happen, preferably death. She doesn't eat a lot anymore and in the end the neighbor's cat eats her leftover food or the raccoons do. She also frequently gets in altercations with the neighbor's cat. I'm not saying I'm gonna be sad when she's gone, but it's gonna be strange when one day, I look out the window and don't see her anymore.
tl;dr: dying cat.
