Hey people,

Does anyone have an idea of what antique coins are worth? I have a large collection of coins and I was hoping to maybe get them valued, probably not to sell (unless they're worth like, a million dollars) but just to get a value to work with and maybe go from there. If anyone has any experience or knows somewone with experience with valuing coins, I would be a very happy person :)

I could get some pictures of them if necessary. I have coins from multiple coutries including Vanuatu, Slovakia, Romania and the French Republic.

Only minted ones are worth anything besides a few coins if there one that are just found around or not in a case and mint are mostly for personal value besides a few oddball coins.

Oh stuff man, I just brought a box of world coins my dad gave me as a gift. Some of them are probably worth 10$-50$, some may be even more.

Value usually depends on the condition of the coin, especially if it's circulated (used in an exchange) or not. It also depends on the year, how many were made, and the mint it was made at. Go to your library and try to find a standard catalog of world coins. That may help.

Oh, our library is meh. It's all stories and stuff.

Lemme count my coins...

150 exactly. I have some American coins and some Canadian too. I have New Zealand coins from as long ago as 1949 and I have some Fijian coins, some Australian and some Korean, and also, maybe some Chinese. I also have Vietnamese Mu'o'i Nghin Dong, 10,000 of it :P

Apparently the 10,000 Mu'o'i Nghin Dong is only worth about $2.50NZD :/

Lol, I have a silver Ein and Drei Deutschmark/Reichsmark, I be wondering how much they're worth.

My friend got a coin collection from his grandma when she died one of the pennies is worth $600 D:

I read pennies as snake

600$ snake

You're collection is probably worth nothing , also 1949 isn't old at all.

i buy and resell tons of bullion and coins.
but im no pro, and using some guide price book is stupid.

its just an easy matter of comparing prices on ebay to know what people are willing to pay.

pawn shops pay so little to what things are worth.
pawn shops are from the days before the internet.

the only thing they would be good for, is if you needed fast money. and intended to buy your item back soon. because they hold items for certain amount of time before they would sell at random. inc your 10% interest.

Here is one of my coins. A 1949 New Zealand Florin.
