Greatest artist/group ever: Sampling/Questions thread.

This thread includes the completed list from the first nomation thread, along with a link to the artist's wiki and one of their songs. Honestly I don't care if I don't get their "best" song or even a song that perhaps represents their work the best, as it's amazingly hard to capture most artists in one song (except for perhaps Owl City). Generally I'll go for more well-known songs, but sometimes I'll go for slightly more obscure songs for bands that EVERYONE knows at least one song by. This is also the thread to ask any questions about a particular artist, because I'm sure there are lots of members that are very knowledgeable about any one of these bands.
