Author Topic: Blockintosh - Eventing the future: bit by BiT.  (Read 11026 times)

Blockintosh (BiT) is an eventing and modification clan. With members from every aspect of Blockland, we work together to create new inventions and contraptions for use by the community. Our projects are teamwork-based to get the job done quickly and efficiently and so our members can learn from one another to improve as a whole. In Blockintish you have the ability to create your own experience. Not only can you work on group projects, but all members are encouraged to share any ideas they have with the community to make them a reality. Welcome to Blockintosh.

Blockintosh started as a large clan and one of the first of it's kind - completely dedicated to eventing. Through time the founder and first leader, MackTheHunter, gave his position to his Associate, Straton. Once BiT fell into a state of disrepair and slumber, *Magick* Mage was brought in as a second leader in the hopes Blockintosh could be brought up once more. For nearly half a year the light flickered, growing closer and closer to extinguishing. Due to the burden of many stresses the clan fell into pieces once more, taking part in much drama; Such drama ranging from impersonators to those out to destroy BiT themselves. In one final attempt of desperation, the co-leaders signed Blockintosh over to AoB Founder and Leader of 5 years, General Jake. Now, Blockintosh has become it's own clan again and found it's way once more, recouping from it's most recent seeming demise to rise from the ashes again.  It seems that, in Blockintosh's many years, it has experienced so much, both good times and bad. It has undergone change after change, now existing as something completely different than what it began. But one thing that can always be said for this magnificent clan of ours:  Always we tried to form the best of what we could. We always looked for the future. And now....We're eventing it.

BiT is currently accepting applications.

There are four main branches of Blockintosh: Building, Eventing, Modeling, Scripting. You can apply to as many or as few as you like. Builders generally take the work of our eventers and make it look appealing to the eye, and modelers work with scripters to do the same. To apply, simply make something pertaining to the branch(es) you are interested in joining. Building and Eventing apps should be created in the Blockintosh server, while Modeling and Scripting apps should be completed, uploaded and sent to General Jake via forum PM or in-game. Please make sure any scripts or models you make are in proper addon format so they can be viewed in-game. I will not grade your app just by looking at the source file! Currently, you can only apply for the four core branches of BiT. The higher ranks are achieved by your participation and skill as a BiT member. If you have any questions about the application process, please post here or talk to a member in-game!

If the ranking system is unclear, feel free to ask me any questions.

So, a quick rundown: The top of the clan is the CEO, as has been the tradition with BiT. Under the CEO is the rank of "Clan Overseer". The CO's job is to keep things in the clan moving smoothly by settling member disputes, working on the HQ and administrating the server. This rank is also able to help out in any projects they are needed for. The next rank under CO is the "Project Manager". PMs are members from any of the four branches (Building, Eventing, Modeling or Scripting) that have ranked up and are able to lead projects. PMs are either assigned to projects or submit projects they would like to do. During the course of a project, the PM is in charge of all members that are contributing to said project. The PM ultimately directs the members and works with them to achieve an end goal and makes sure it works out smoothly. Under the PM are the four core ranks of Blockintosh: Builder, Eventer, Modeler and Scripter. Builders work on evented projects to make them look good and appealing to the eye, and so are required to have slightly above average building skills. Eventers do all of the eventing work, very simply. Any aspect of a project that involves Blockland Events will be handled by a BiT eventer. Eventers should have an advanced and complete knowledge of wrench events. Modelers create the models that are used in BiT's inventions, whether they be used in an evented build or accompany a scripter's work. Modelers should have experience with Blender or Milkshape. Finally, the scripter does... scripting. Scripters should have experience with torquescript. These four branches all have three ranks, which indicate the skill/experience level of the member (three being the highest, one being the lowest).

I love the layout, logo looks great. Good to see my ol' group is getting a topic of it's own again.

Except the fonts look to halloween esque.

Looks wonderful Jake. Great job! :D!

I would definetly like to apply for modeling.

What would you like to see as an app Jake?

Anything you think shows your skills. Just don't make something overly simplistic!

I'm going to make a computer powered by 2 massively oversized generators in a concrete room with one window.

GOGOGO

Finally it's up!! Looks great Jake, and the logo fits the clan perfectly.

Lol: Im going to apply for unassigned!!  Jk, I'll will make a building application sometime, and eventually a scripting one as well :)

To Snaily, SeventhSandwich, Fjeld and Bongo:

You are all marked as unlisted. Tomorrow, I'm going to add you all to eventing, because that's what I know you know how to do. If you want to join any of the other branches, you will still have to apply for them separately.

Hallelujah! Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, OH SOMETHING SOMETHING...

Does BiT have any projects planned at the moment?

I would definetly like to apply for modeling.
Same here. Now, would you want an example of computer products I made for Bell?

I think he's implying you must make one from scratch.
