Scott sounds weird in the movie.

Cera actually plays the role in a good way. Stop for a second and think for yourselves.

pretentious hipster garbage

I still need to read the entire book series, only read the first one.

Hot damn I just saw the movie awhile ago with some friends and it was actually pretty freakin awesome!

Would you care to elaborate, or just pull phrases out of your ass because you hear them thrown around on the internet?

Saw the movie, I liked it a lot. Then I read the comics and I liked that a lot more than the movie, also beat the game which was fun. Im going to see it again to compare it to the comics

It's loving not good. I'll refrain from saying it's hipster stuff, but judging it by its own merits, it's not good. The plot is convoluted and thrown-together, and it attempts to be deeper than it actually is. None, and I mean NONE of the characters are likeable. The "art style" is simply a lazy way of drawing due to the artist's lack of skill. This stuff would maybe pass as a webcomic, but in my humble opinion it did not deserve to be published, much less get a movie and video game. Also, the "video game references" are really unnecessary, and are only there to try and make the stupid gamer like the comic.

If you want to read it, feel free. But it's really not that good at all. Someone above me mentioned Twilight for teenage boys. That's almost right.

Scott Pilgrim is Twilight for teenage boys.

You already said it was hipseter stuff and I was asking to elaborate on that, not what you thought of the comic. How does it attempt to be deeper than it is, by having romance in it or what? I would like to hear why you think that.

I love how you say because its not detailed (or whatever the forget your point was) that its horrible and the artist is "lazy", so if anyone draws differently than what you have thought out in your head (which is probably as close to realism as possible) that means the artist is lazy? I get it that you had to look for more reasons to act like the comic is that bad, but insulting the art is just silly and I doubt you even cared much about it or the fact that its a comic, and while the illustrations are always there, they are just there to help the plot and visualization (atleast in Scott Pilgrim's case).

Its almost as funny as you complain over video game references as if thats an issue. Its what the author wanted to put in his story, yet again I doubt you would find this an issue in other  comics/movies, its not like this comic was even popular in the first view editions so its like which "stupid gamer"s would he even be reaching out for anyways.

I think its the funniest thing how you act like the art style and video game references are issues and make this movie crap. In my humble opinion its pretty evident that you are struggling for movies to dislike this comic, sully based of the fact that most of the people here seem to like it and you want to seem "different" by opposing that view, so you establish these false issues and calling the plot convoluted (which I guess it would be if you were six or something) and saying the characters are unlikable.

Ill hand it to you that its your opinion, but its my opinion you had a negative mood about it going into it so you had a negative mood going out.

It's a bad movie and everybody who likes it should be ashamed of themselves.
