Author Topic: Math Help  (Read 1177 times)

I was given a summer homework worksheet to help remember what we learned, but I am seriously forgetting stuff I learned. In addition to that, there are also things on this worksheet I didn't learn such as binomial and trinomial factoring.

Currently stuck on: check the topic

First use distributive property.
Subtract the variable w.
Carry over the 30.
Divide.
w = PROFIT!?

I won't give you the answer unless you beg. >:D

6w-30-3w=12

-18=3w

w=-6

You're welcome

 i was going to make a math help topic :C

That's not even close to being right.
You suck at basic math.

heedicalking, do you understand the concept of collecting like terms?

Also, a=8 if I'm not mistaken.

^^^ That's right.
Are you just saying that because you want him to do his own work?

6w-30-3w=12
3w-30=12
3w=42
w=14

Dam you're right.

Ok so I far i did this:
6(w - 5) - 3w = 12
6w - 30 - 3w = 12
3w - 30 = 12
3w - 30 + 30 = 12 + 30
3w = 42
3/3w = 42 / 3
w = 14

I figured that out, thanks. I was forgetting all about the distributive property. Now the other equation.

Also, a=8 if I'm not mistaken.

Let's see...

9*8 + 7 = 4*8 - 33

Nope.

9a + 7 = 4a - 33
5a + 7 = -33
5a = -40
a = -8

9a + 7 = 4a - 33
5a + 7 = -33
5a = -40
a = -8
Was doing it in my head, so I was close.
