Author Topic: RadioShack RC Hummer H2, 1:10 scale  (Read 6566 times)

So a while back, possibly before I even played Blockland, I got one of these things from Radioshack.

What I did to it:

1. Pulled the stupid loving stickers off of it.

2. Got rid of the strange front rack over the headlights.

3. Got rid of the annoying dirt lights on the top of the car.

4. Took of the snowtrack wheels and replaced them with ordinary wheels from a recycled Chevrolet Avalanche RC car of the same scale.

5. Brought the front and rear bumpers up a bit higher.

6. Brought the suspension up higher.

7. After a few years of use, I replaced the motor with a brushless motor and started using Ni-MH batteries (Last twice as long, better performance).

And the final product?

(The front is the hummer. The car in the background is my dad's "Rammunition" RC truck.)

This thing is bloody fast. It can rip around dirt and sand with no problems, I'm going to waterproof it soon as well. Later on tomorrow I'm going to upload a video of the thing with my fancy camera for you all to see. :D

This is awesome, just the sort of thing I would like to do but don't have the money.

Ill buy it for $45

With the stuff I've done to it? It's at least worth $300, I bought it for $450 new.

Have you ever taken it off some sweet jumps?

If you waterproof it, put water wings filled with helium on the sides.  :cookieMonster:
