Author Topic: What Should I Do!?  (Read 1286 times)

Well I had a post quite a while ago about how I screwed over a programming team. I didn't meet a certain deadline so I had to give them my game engine. Instead, I gave them an early version of my engine without them knowing. I believe they deserved it because they were richards. Anyways they found about this because they spotted my "Die Alone" mod that I released yesterday. Now they're pissed off and I'm stick in this huge "legal" arguement. What should I do?

Tell them to forget off.

Unless you signed a binding legal contract stating you had to give them your engine upon failure to meet the deadline, you don't owe them anything and they have no case against you.

Pssh, with the most expensive of lawyers, a case can be found.

just wondering

The reason they have me by the balls is because if they decide to post some dirty stuff about me on Doomworld, I'm screwed.

Also I'm not worried about being sued so stop making wise cracks.

But wise cracks are all I have. :/

If they post something about you on Doomworld, why don't you just post that they shortened their deadline so you couldn't meet it?

True I guess but it's like 5 vs 1. Kind of a hard battle to win.

Let them post what they want. What's the worst that could happen? I don't know the full situation, or what you could possibly have to lose, but if it cause enough damage, you can throw a defamation suit in their face. Of course you probably won't have a case even if you tried, but it has more merit than they bullstuff "legal" claim they threatened you with. If anything, it might shut them up.
