Macs have very nice hardware.

But honestly, Macs may have the same processors as most PCs, but what I've found is that their cooling systems are either insufficient or fail, they don't have good CD/DVD/BluRay drives, and they're not always made from the best stuff.  They're also pretty over priced, imo.  The OS is nice as far as functionality goes.  Then again, my Mac experience is only with laptops, so maybe their desktops are different.
Also, when comparing Macs and PCs, you guys have to realize that you can't compare a Mac and some stufftier brand of PCs. Since Windows is a more popular system, there's going to be some stuffty computers out there with it.  You're better off comparing Macs and ASUS or some decent brand.

ASUS is a somewhat expensive brand.

Alienware is expensive but a bad comparison since you're paying for things that you don't even need, like a magnesium alloy casing.

People hate MACs a lot... I have the biggest version of the best MAC (outdated '08 iMac) and the screen is the size of 4 laptops. People get PCs because they're cheap. You don't have to insult something because you hate it. If you watch anything educational you'll see most computers used in simulations etc. are MACs. The only drawback that really effects me is the incompatibility with PC files (.exe, .bat etc.). What's with this "stuffty OS" thing though? I have OS Snow leopard and I can pretty much what a PC can. PCs are popular, that doesn't make them better.

PCs are for advanced users.
MACs are for people who cant work on a computer very well.
And thats a good thing.
