Author Topic: Why is God so mean and self-centered?  (Read 12443 times)

I believe youre all figments of my imagination and so when I die you all "die" with me. Whether or now I generate a new world, Only dieing can tell
who's to say you arent just a figment of MY imagination

Probably his own. Maybe he isn't even Christian.
Most likely, most Christian Factions I have studied don't have those points of view.

Also notice how in the Bible it was the Woman who made the mistake  :cookieMonster:

if eve hadn't listened to satan, adam and eve would still be relaxing in the garden of eden, we wouldnt be here
Humans have to mate, don't they?

Ooh such fun! Let me try from a book of the same magnitude.

If the 3rd pig hadn't made a brick house, he would have been eaten!

True, but do you believe there is a Satan?
No. I believe that there are dark spirits at work in the world, but I do not believe there is a dominant one or a "Satan". I believe that role, too, is symbolic.

If there is not Hell then why would there be a Satan?
Exactly

I'm still trying to figure out what view of Christianity mage is coming from.
Mageism.  :cookieMonster:

Probably his own. Maybe he isn't even Christian.
I'm Christian. Catholic, specifically. I enjoy and believe in many of the traditions and beliefs of Christianity. I just focus my beliefs around what are supposed to be the most important commandments rather than some other ideologies.

what if he built a tank instead?

what if he built a tank instead?
That would be an awesome tank

ITT: People trolling around saying their beliefs are better than everyone elses.

ITT: The people that really don't give a stuff like A.R.C. and oro

Still how do the bones of dinosaurs and past creatures dating back millions of years relate with the bible?

what if he built a tank instead?
he would've killed the wolf
which would put all wolves at extinction
which would cause the pig population to increase to exponential rates, thus increasing the boar population, thus decreasing the population of other wildlife and or humans.

The number of people who simply don't understand science and then expect nonsensical arguments to be taken seriously on this forum is depressing.

Basically, it all boils down to this: we have not discovered what happened 'before' the big bang (I put before in quotes because it's dubious as to whether time existed at all then), but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. That's not how science works. If there is overwhelming evidence that something occurred, you can't dismiss it because you don't know why it occurred.

And for those of you who are more scientifically literate but retain a deistic or theistic worldview: it is a logical fallacy (argument from ignorance) to assume that because we do not know what caused the beginning of the universe that a god did it.

Still how do the bones of dinosaurs and past creatures dating back millions of years relate with the bible?
We lived with the dinosaurs, you know. The Flintstones was actually a documentary. :o

Some religious folk believe the Earth not to be more than a few years old or something, can't remember it specifically.

6,000 years, because of the dating of genealogy back to Adam and Eve. Apparently. :o

I heard my mom say something about Satan having to Ask god if he can troll you.
