Author Topic: Why is God so mean and self-centered?  (Read 12440 times)

I find it funny how when religion is brought up, it almost immediately turns into discussing creationism vs. evolution. :o
No real way you can avoid that.

It's like magnets

Micro-evolution is fact. Especially on isolated islands and places of that sort. There is a pool filled with jellyfish somewhere in the world that have no stingers. Humans born in hot climates have darker skin to avoid sunburn.

Long term evolution through natural selection is however debatable. It will always be debated on, and each side has some evidence against the other. This can't really be resolved until we all die.

One thing that makes me doubt the spontaneous life theory on how life started is how the organisms on earth are so complex within their structure, that had chemicals and cell parts that seem to come out of nowhere. How is this?

Some religious folk believe the Earth not to be more than a few years old or something, can't remember it specifically.

I believe that it is somewhere about 10,000-15,000 years.

who's to say you arent just a figment of MY imagination
Because Im the host and youre the figment, its obvious because I can see through my eyes and control me but I cant control you. You can come back at me by saying you can control me but youre really not control anything, youre just a figment :)

But then theres also how the world came to be in my imagination. That leads me to one of two possibilities:
1. My mind just created them all at once
2. My mind initially created whats needed for the Big Bang or whatever AKA Inverted is right

Yes this is all just a figment, you are actually trapped in a Hologram simulation.

You are actually completely handicapped :)

Im not gonna bother arguing my point of view (Heck I probably will, who am I kidding) because I could really care less if you believe me. Of course I dont see why anyone would want to believe theyre just the figment.

Aww man :c

wow

derp

Read up on things before you say that they're impossible. This "spontaneous creation" argument is not only a strawman, but extremely ironic. There is nothing being "spontaneously created" when discussing evolution by natural selection.

Agh, I didn't seperate those statements right. That was more aimed at how life on earth started, not evoulution.

At least you understand that abiogenesis does not mean evolution.

that means the world came up from his ass?
Where do you think the earths crust came from  :cookieMonster:

I believe in The Religion of Science!

I'm not THAT much of an starfish am I? :cookieMonster:

On a serious note. He's an starfish because man made him an starfish.
