I never had too much luck with girls either. Back in elementary school, it seemed like every year some girl would start hanging around me a lot, then around fifth grade I stopped seeing that. Every so often I get my confidence up but I'm frankly surprised I even have any friends with how hard it is for me to communicate.
Anyway, starting this year I eat lunch with my best friend, a bunch of other kids who are irrelevant to this drama, and this girl. Last year, my best friend talked about this drama he had going with her a lot. Apparently, he spent a lot of time working up the balls to ask her out, and when he did, she turned him down because her parents don't want her dating for another couple years and she wanted to respect that. I never met the girl until this school year started, and now I've been trying to flirt with her whenever I can, but it's pretty damn hard.
My best friend told me that he's not sure of the situation between her and the girl, but it's pretty awkward trying to "get anywhere" with her because I don't know if they're "waiting for each other". They're friends, but I have reason to believe I don't know the whole story. She sits right across from me, so I could easily over hear her talking with one of the irrelevant kids when he was planning to ask out her twin sister. Never did she say her parents would have a problem with it.
