Author Topic: I need to learn standard notation in a week.  (Read 550 times)

Musicians, I need to learn the bass staff notes in one week to try out for a jazz group at my school. I'm not talking memorization of which notes the lines and spaces represent, I need to actually internalize them so that I can look at a note on the staff and instantly say what it is and what fret it is on my bass. I already know which notes go to which frets on my bass, but I need a fast efficient way to get the bass staff down. Any helpful drills/methods to do this?

im play saxaphone in my school's jass thingy, i reccomend a youtube tutorial

The best way is to look at notes on a scale and practice that way, but to learn what your asking takes a long time
