It reflects on how without spongebob, Patrick doesn't exist. Haven't you noticed the only time you see patrick is when spongebob is around? His sole purpose is to be spongebob's friend. When spongebob doesn't want to be around patrick anymore, Patrick snaps.


Patrick is becoming the main character himself, now. He's "teaching" spongebob a lesson. Spongebob is just another patrick in these newer episodes. You see, if spongebob hung around squidward more, he would be more sane, and be the main character still. Patrick corrupted spongebob. Spongebob cannot leave patrick, ever.


The gist of what I'm saying is that patrick is forcing Spongebob to like him, no matter what it takes.
