Don't worry, buddy, Blender has the learning curve of a brick wall.

Wings 3D is what I use. It's easier in my opinion and quite intuitive.

What about it makes it easier (not flaming but im jsut wondering.. if its easier i might switch to it)

Blender has a whole lot of features that are pretty advanced and only useful in obscure situations. Blender also has a lot of hotkeys to remember, and that's no fun.

Wings uses a simple menu that's accessed by right-clicking the 3d space. It's basic operations such as rotate, scale, extrude, inset, bevel and other self explanatory functions. Although Wings has a couple hotkeys, there's not nearly as much to remember. S (smooth) and C (connecting vertices) are the only ones I need to remember.

I use Wings for basic modeling. Seeing as Wings doesn't have a good built in renderer, I export to .obj and import into Blender to add fancy stuff such as reflectivity and transparency.

It's all a matter of practice, too. It's just that Wings allows you to practice faster, in a sense.

So i should use wings before moving into blender is what your saying. THanks Ill downlaod it and try it out now. Just one more question. It says that i can colour in blender, How do i do that i want to make my gun look a little bit better

Scratch the paint i made it worse xD

Painting in wings is pretty easy. You can color objects, faces, edges, and vertices. You simply select all the things you want to color and select a color from the Palette window. You can make custom palettes, too!

Unfortunately, colors don't export. You can still color in Blender, though, it's just a little harder in my opinion.

I going to download wings now.. and try it out

I didnt like it that much.. I only used it for about 20 minutes or somethin but i feel like i could do more in Blender.. Blender seems easier. It might be just because i didnt know how everything worked but its my opinion.. but thanks for helping :D

Well, different strokes for different folks :D

All I can say is good luck! I barely have a clue how to use blender.

I make most of my models in SketchUp then I convert them to Blender.

Can you post one of em?

Have you ever posted your stuff in the 3D models thread? Can't say I remember seeing any of yours.

It says it doesnt exsist.. can you post a direct picture?
