Yup.  It was not causing a distraction in school and people started actually making room for me to dance and my friend joined in and then the counselor came and saw us dancing and we got these things called majors which means we have to stay after school and do nothing.  I do not see a problem for dancing students.  We were not playing any music.

You should simply ask them (kindly) how dancing was wrong. Of course if you had an attitude at any point, then you lost your case.
