To apply to ToB, you must be able to build skillfully and have at least a basic knowledge of wrench events. ToB is first and foremost a building clan. For anybody who comes to the server saying "kan I join? I dunt build g00d but im kewl at events," this means you (That was a quote from a Blockhead, FYI). If you are proficient in events, rather than building, consider applying to BoT instead. Wrench events are ignored when you apply for ToB.
To apply to BoT, you must have advanced knowledge and proficiency in eventing, and a basic knowledge of building. BoT is first and foremost an eventing clan. If you are proficient in building, rather than events, consider applying to ToB instead.
Here are the steps to apply for ToB:
1) Build Your Application - The first step of applying to ToB is building your actual application. There are two choices of how to do so. You may build it in the ToB server, or you can build it on your own server; however, if you build it on your own server, or a friend's server, the application must be posted in the Gallery section of the Blockland Forums with good screenshots. In your gallery post, please do not use DOF Screenshots. If you do, you will be asked to re-take them. You may not load your application in the server. There are two requirements for an ToB application. First, your application must have an exterior. For example, a house must be finished on the outside, not just on the inside. Second, your application must have a unique interior. This means that, for example, if you are building a house, the interior walls should not consist of the same bricks used to construct the exterior. The interior should be planned and make sense. Don't build a fancy exterior and a small, undetailed interior just to satisfy the requirement. Terrain applications are not recommended. Your application will not be judged until step two is complete. When you finish your application in the server, or when you post it on the forum, let Blockland OS know, and you can move on to step two.
2) Interview - Anybody that wants to apply for ToB will have a simple five minute interview with Blockland OS on the ToB server. There is no real preparation required for this, but don't just come into the server and expect an immediate interview. Please PM on RTB or contact us some how, or otherwise make some sort of rough time appointment beforehand with OS. If you pass the interview, you may move to the final step of the application process.
3) Judging - Once steps one and two have been completed, your application will be judged. Multiple members, chosen at random, will be shown your application anonymously to rate it. Ultimately, Blockland OS has the final say on applications, but judging results from the membership are regularly followed. If you pass the judging, you will become a member of ToB, rank R1, unless informed otherwise.
Here are the steps to apply for BoT:
1) Build your Eventing Application - As you can all guess, your application for BoT must be an eventing application. This means that the main focus of your build should be on eventing, however your building skill will also be judged moderately. As long as you don't make a habit of 1x1 walls, you should be fine. There are three requirements for your application. The first requirement is that you show an understanding of VCE Variables. To do so, please do not simply use one VCE event only. We would like to see multiple different applications of the several VCE variables. This does not mean you have to use all of them, however. The seocnd requirement is a demonstration of relays. You must use relays in at least some, if not all, parts of your applications. The fewer named bricks, the better; but I prefer to see none! The third and final requirement is that your build have a purpose. Previously the "Fifty Bricks" requirement, I believe this will make the point clearer. Your build cannot just be a lone brick with events. I want to see you apply them to some sort of build. There is no size min/max and there us no brick count min/max. Just make something that shows your skills creatively. Your application will not be judged until you complete step two.
2) Interview - See step two above, in the Steps to apply for ToB.
3) Judging - Once steps one and two have been completed, your application will be judged. Blockland OS will examine your application and judge it, sometimes along with other members of BoT. If you pass the judging, you will become a member of BoT. There are currently no ranks in BoT.
