Author Topic: Colors we've never seen before?  (Read 3296 times)

I was reading A.R.C.s color topic, when I remembered how I used to daydream through math class about colors we've never seen before. If you think about it deeply, there's alot to think about. Would our minds be able to comprehend it? Would it drive us mad? Do we have the power to think of new colors, but can't because we have no idea what to imagine? Think about it.

If you discovered a new color what would you do with it?

Alright I'll change it up a bit, realistic or not.: There are new colors, and we can comprehend them. And I'm talking like, new colors never discovered to humanity. You can form it into a liquid form and use it as ink or paint. What do you do?

Bumblebees can see ultraviolet.
Some other reptiles and such can see infrared.
If we could see colors like that, our mind you adapt fine.

Our eyes can only see certain pigments. We can't see all of them and other animals can.

That's quite an interesting situation you got there. Yes, our human minds can comprehend new colors, and if we couldn't, children wouldn't be able to learn new colors. That would certainly drive us mad, because we would have no idea on how to make that color, or how it is composed or where did it come from and what that color is used on. I don't think we can imagine new colors.

If I had discovered a new color, I'd tell everyone about it, try to make it with a mixture of ink or whatever.

You assume we're sane now.

Except the fact that colors are limited.

Except the fact that colors are limited.
How would it be if they weren't?

A dimension with its own set of Physical laws, and a different colorset.

Except the fact that colors are limited.
'Color' or visible light, is just a term for a certain part of the wavelength spectrum.
It might be possible to even see microwaves, (or any radiation) though I'd have no idea.
Example: Heat vision.

We can already see just about every colour, I'm sure there might a few on the edges of our rainbow but we can see more colour then any animals can. We have enough trouble with the amount of colour we can see now. Colour theory lessons hurray.

i would name a colour yeg and it appears when an egg yolk collides with a white sun going supernova

That's just dumb, the other colors are already named, anyhow.
