I know more cores are better, but they are only 1.73 ghz cores, will that hurt me?

hardrive is like 500 gigs, I was just gonna buy an external if I needed more

Not necessarily. Since the i7 has turbo boost it'll probably go up to 2.2 GHz if you need to.

An i7 is powerful even at 2.0 GHz.
