Author Topic: Do you actually honestly believe anything will happen on December 21st 2012?  (Read 12585 times)

Only gonna buy a video camera, so that I can tape the nerds howling, "IT'S TEH END OF TEH WOOOOOOORLLLD!"

I remember either Miga or Yuki saying that when 2012 comes and people will be running out on the streets and screaming their asses of, he would film it and upload it to YouTube if the world doesn't split apart or whatever.

The Mayans just happened to run out of rocks for their calendar on 12/21/12.
Coincidence, if you ask me.

Also this:

Our calendar repeats after it runs out, yes?
Then why shouldn't the Maya's calendar?

Oh yeah, things like this happen every 3-20 years.
Like the 2000 year on computers.
Huge amounts of money are spent on this.

Of course.

When it hits that date, it will be December 21st 2012.

That's anything, right?

The mayans have only predicted things that were likely to happen.

Many clever people can say 'Well, there's going to be another huge scandal about the world ending', and the mayans had clever predictions, such as 'We are not the only people on this world. It is a vast place, and we are probably not the only ones here. We are likely to be invaded by them', and things like 'If this happens, which it probably will, people are likely to be violent and we will have big wars.'

So they wrote things like that on the calander, and blargh.

I believe on Dec 21st 2012, I will start my computer, and log onto the blockland forums.

That's what's gonna happen.

The Mayan calendar, in all actuality, doesn't end on that date. Granted, it does draw some closing and marks astrological events, but it is actually the beginning of a new cycle. The calendar resets itself, and it doesn't "end" until it does that 5 or 6 times, if memory serves. This would be the first reset. :o

The calendar predicts unusual astrological activity for that specific date, but they some have also connected a text of writing that may be related o the calendar, which states there will be an "enlightenment" of some sort.

That 2012 survival website is loving filled with advertisements for expensive clothes and other merchandise.
Why not actually loving make something helpful rather than trying to make money?

I just think the media is just overhyping this, so they can make money out of it.
For example, the film 2012 had a budget that could have been used to HELP.

...That is a movie site, you know this, right? :o

Few days til christmas, duh. That's what will happen.

No.  Nothing out of the ordinary will happen on that date.  It will be a perfectly normal day.

Yes, there will be crowds of people everywhere freaking out for no good reason.
