Author Topic: Lost All My Work  (Read 937 times)

As you may or may not know, I make DooM 2 mods. Anyways I decided to go make a small adjustment to one of my mods in WXE so I could give the mod to a friend on a flash drive. Due to a bad file path or something WXE decides to overwrite all my DooM 2 related files with the mod I tried to edit. So basicly I just lost about 4 months worth of work. I did manage to recover ONE OF MY MODS by downloading it off of a mediafire since I released it as a public demo. This is a huge setback for my DooM 2 mod "Die Alone" so I've been considering abandoning that project all together. Should I abandon it and work on something else or should I try to recover as much of it as I can and repair it?

Serious : repair the files

Generally when I've had something like this I usually just left it and forgot about it.

The only one thing I actually picked up again and started all over from was GTA4's story, where I reformatted and apparently I didn't copy the right file and wouldn't have worked anyway because GFWL is a richard.

Except he can't.

Well, you could try these programs which recover files from hard disk. You can't count on them, but some of them work great.

Try to backup your files.
That's all anyone can really say.

I feel sorry for you.

You're dog is depressed, I called you a friend, and now you lose your files and stuff.

Get a separate drive for all your DOOM files. So if you lose progress, you can restore it with the drive and bring them back onto your computer.

System restore.

System restore only recovers system changes, not files.
