Would this be good deal?
Or
this?
If not, instead of saying it's stuff find a better one for a reasonable price
Considering this now

It looks good, but you could get a huge cut on the price by having an AMD processor instead (Seriously, theres no difference cept intel costs more)
this?
If you are looking for energy efficiency get this one, but if you want anywhere near good performance this one won't have it.

I only considered it because the processor was better but the graphics card sucks

I can't seem to find any with an AMD processor

Actually Intel is higher quality and IMO works better than AMD, and is also more popular.

The first laptop has a dual core but a great graphics chip,
the second laptop has a dual core with hyperthreading (two physical cores + two logical cores IIRC) but a much worse graphics chip.

Leaning towards the first one

Tough decision...
Not really.

A Core 2 Duo should handle games decently, especially since it has a 9800M GTS with 1GB dedicated VRAM.

If I were you I'd go for it. It's very well built from the specifications.

I'd buy it but frankly I'm looking more into netbooks.

Thanks everyone. I'll probably sell my current laptop and buy that one by Christmas unless something better comes around in Gateway's line up.
Edit: This could play GTA IV on low settings?

Eh... Very, very low considering the CPU.

Minimum is a 1.8 ghz dual core intel. Besides I play most of my games already with a 1.5 ghz dual intel, under minimum requirements and I make it along

I'm looking at the first one, as I am looking for a laptop too. Would it be able to run TF2, Gmod, and other source games/mods?

It can play all of them except the L4D games.

Might as well get the FX since it's more gaming oriented.

AMD is assembled much cheaper, resulting in less in price, but less reliability. I would stick to an Intel, may cost around 100$ more, but tends to be much more reliable and speedy. My dad engineers supercomputers, and he recommends Intel.

What? That's not the case at all. You make it sound as if AMD is a cheap knock off. Intel processors are better performing than comparable AMD processors, but you pay a decent price premium for a boost that is insignificant to most users. I can't comment on the difference between these two computers at the moment though.
