Author Topic: Which graphics card is better?  (Read 974 times)

I'm trying to find out if an ATI Radeon X1400 (what I have) is equivalent/better than an ATI Radeon 7000.

I don't know ATI cards because they use a forgeted up numbering system.

Agreed.

Really, if you need a new GPU so badly, your going to need a new PSU, GPU (derp), and that's about it.

I had 370 watts for awhile on my Geforce 210 by EVGA, but that didn't do the trick, I got a Corsair CX430 and that was rated at 430 watts.

That helped me in MANY ways, I could play TDU at full res, and It boosted some FPS on other games.

I suggest looking at your power supply and read off the wattage, if it is <300, get a new one.

I have a laptop.

I believe the X1400 is better.
It was made 5 years after the Radeon 7000/VE as well.

I couldn't find your card on Newegg, I didn't check anywhere else though, and I'm guessing it's an integrated GPU.
And the Radeon 7000 only has 64MB of memory. So it's not a very good card.

It would help to know your PSU and the specs of your current GPU.

BAHAHAHA! You're screwed, bro. It's insanely hard to upgrade a laptop.

I have a laptop.

That's a problem. You CANNOT upgrade Laptop GPUs.

Buy a nice PC, I have a Dell XPS 410, a loving studio computer. The case is pretty cool, and this thing has a water cooled? CPU Heatsink, about 4 fans, (1 on the bottom vent, one by the CPU, 1 on the GPU, and one on the PSU.) and a okay CPU, rated at about 2.1 GHz. Still, the CPU is 64bit, I am going to upgrade that soon, and possibly get an external HD.

Get nVidia, ATI has no physics, try the GeForce GTX 480 and also try getting a desktop

You dumbforget Ati can support physics.

If you take out the graphics card and plug your mom in to it  runs MUCH faster =0

try the GeForce GTX 480
Because everyone has that kind of money.
You can get an entire decent PC with a 9800 and a Core 2 Duo for the cost of the higher end 480's.
For playing Blockland that's plenty.

herp derp im stupid and have no idea what im talking about so go ahead and buy something because of invalid facts and the fact that you have $500 to spare for a 480.

Now with this post, you're just stupid plain and simple.

Why is it with every computer thread there is always a bunch of people who barge in and pretend they know what they're talking about.

The x1400 is 1400x more powerful than the 7000.
Oh god that was such a bad joke.
