Author Topic: Should Dihydrogen monoxide be Banned?  (Read 1302 times)

Tom

You may not know it, but the dangerous chemical Dihydrogen monoxide (DHMO) is being used all around us. Here are some interesting facts about it:

Quote

Dihydrogen monoxide:

        * is called "hydroxyl acid", the substance is the major component of acid rain.
        * contributes to the "greenhouse effect".
        * may cause severe burns.
        * is fatal if inhaled.
        * contributes to the erosion of our natural landscape.
        * accelerates corrosion and rusting of many metals.
        * may cause electrical failures and decreased effectiveness of automobile brakes.
        * has been found in excised tumors of terminal cancer patients.

Despite the danger, dihydrogen monoxide is often used:

        * as an industrial solvent and coolant.
        * in nuclear power plants.
        * in the production of Styrofoam.
        * as a fire handicapant.
        * in many forms of cruel animal research.
        * in the distribution of pesticides. Even after washing, produce remains contaminated by this chemical.
        * as an additive in certain "junk-foods" and other food products.

This topic has already been posted earlier this week, plus almost everyone who has taken even a middle school science class knows about this.

Oh and just as a spoiler for the people who haven't seen this boring stuff yet:
dihydrogen monoxide = water

SHH I'M TRYING TO TRICK PEOPLE.

I really need to try this and troll the forget out of some hippies/hipsters.

My chemistry teacher talked about this last year.

Its basically H2O

Well at least we know 1 person (the other person who voted yes was me) on this forums blindly votes in polls without verifying info about the topic.

Tom

BE CAREFUL IT CAN CAUSE EXCESSIVE URINATION!!!!

The only reason I bothered spoiling it was because we just had another so recently: http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=128229.0

Belongs in drama.

Oh, that's a gas.
