say "We're just looking for our friends!"
shoot them.

kill the suns of bitches

they're just workers, right?

Order you men to fire short controlled bursts, and also tell the heavy not to fire.

oh gee I just crashed PDN trying to make a big all-in-one size compasison. :cookieMonster:

Anyways, updates when I feel motivated.

MOTIVATION 500 POINTS ON TARGET.

Order you men to fire short controlled bursts, and also tell the heavy not to fire.
This happens.

Oh no Iconian hurt!!!

He is now a burden, put him down.

have the heavy fire while the iconians attend to their comrade

make a mental note to bring a medic next time

also have the humans lay down cover fire while the iconians get their injured squadmate out of the acid pool to minimize further damage.

I wasted all this time making a species index!

Accuracy = Chance to hit
Weapons = Damage Done
Health = Amount of damage sustainable before death
Medicine = Ability to replenish HP
Speed = Chance to dodge an attack before it hits
Armor = Chance to reduce damage from an attack that already hit

Known Species:

Humans: +Armor, +Weapons, +Accuracy  -Health, -Speed
Humans have been fighting each other for millennia before they got to the galactic scene, and have become quite good at it. As a result their weapons, armor, and training are meant to be able to combat multiple threats at once. However, underneath their armor they are still slow, squishy, bald apes. The confederation of humanity's roots go way back to ruthless yet efficient dictators. Because of that, first contact with the Iconians eventually led to a long and bloody war. Human ships are usually all around types, generally balanced, but still powerful, and most have a main cannon of some sort. The largest known Human ship is the Buffalo class Medium Dreadnaught. They are the second youngest species that is still around today in the galactic scene, having been around only about 100 years.

Iconians: +Weapons, -Armor
The Iconians are an ancient species and one of the longest lasting space empires, and are able to build top quality weapons and massive starships that will last for centuries. A prime example of Iconian engineering are the Starcrusher Heavy Dreadnaughts, which are about 20 Kilometers long and have incredible firepower. The dreadnaughts are capital ships of large fleets and in numbers can glass planets. However, Iconian armor suffers from some crippling overspecialization. While their built-in forcefield generators may be able to deflect lasers and even offer good protection against explosions, it is still unable to protect against kinetic attacks and acids. The Iconians are rumored to have been raised by the precursors, and are the only civilization around to ever have witnessed them before they dissapeared. Other tales say that they grew stronger and wiped the precursosrs out. They are the oldest species that is still around today in the galactic scene, having been around for about 2000 years.

Kalakarg: ++Medicine, -Weapons
The Kalakarg are a squid-like species. They have a good alliance with humans due to them being around the same tech level and how close they are. Their ships are all made of a special, green metal and are usually armed with Gamma weapons and cloaking devices. Certain plants on their homeworld produce a very effective healing solvent that they have named “Otlok”. Just spread some of it on a burn, laceration, or even a broken bone, and it immediately numbs the afflicted area and accelerates the natural healing process. Each standard trooper is issued two single-use otlok canisters, and their medics are given four, along with a Otlok-application stream (In simpler terms, a medicine-gun.). They are the youngest species that is still around today in the galactic scene, having been around for only 57 years.

Lacamptu : +Weapons, +Armor, +Health, --Speed
Lacamptu may not be the oldest race in the galaxy, but they are certainly the most advanced. They choose not to make very massive starships, unlike the Iconians. An interesting aspect about their ships is that they can essentially transform from an attack mode to a speed/armor mode. Their weapons and armor are some of the best in existence, but using such heavy weapons and armor slows them down quite a bit, even with hydraulic-assist leg armor. Regardless, they are essentially walking tanks. They are the second oldest species that is still around today in the galactic scene, having been around roughly 800 years.

Toraai: +Speed, +Armor, -Medicine, -Health
The Toraai are an insect-like race, possessing armored exoskeletons, compound eyes, and no view of individuality. They think of themselves as a collective a whole warrior, and each person is an arm of said warrior. Their ships are hive shaped and strong, but not exactly powerful on their own. Their armor is more like an extension of their already strong exoskeleton than something to wear, but once it is pierced there is nothing but vital organs beneath. Their lack of individuality means that their medics do not care much for the near-death, and will only heal other Toraai that are only lightly injured. They are the third least oldest species that is still around today in the galactic scene, having been around around 250 years.

Isekut: ++Armor, +Health, -Speed
The Isekut are a mysterious species that rarely communicate with other species. Because of that, they are neutral against almost any empire or cause and little is really known about them. Their ships are light gray destroyers that are slow but strong and powerful. They are the fourth oldest species that is still around today in the galactic scene, having been around for 300 years.

Kanulom:  +Weapons, ++Speed, -Armor, --Health
Kanulom live fast and die young, at least from many other species’ point of view. Many Kanulom do not live past twenty five Earth-years old. However, during their short lives, they are able to think fast, and run even faster. Their ships are fast, powerful, but have weak armor. Their idea of a good offense and defense is to keep moving so the enemy can’t even hit you. As a result, their powered armor development has been more to provide additional speed, but minimum protection. They are the third oldest species that is still around today in the galactic scene, having been around for 325 years.

Unknown Species:

Kresh: +Weapons, +Armor, -Speed, -Accuracy
The Kresh are literally worse than Riddler. And that's terrible. They seemingly came out of nowhere with massive starships and started attacking a large sector of the galaxy spanning from the Iconian Empire to the Lacamptu. All of their ships seem to be mostly biological, with only a few mechanical parts to make them run. The Kresh royal cruisers are the largest of their ships that have yet been seen, and there may be even bigger, more gruesome ones just outside the doorway leading from here to wherever they came from. Their ships main attack is like an energy director cannon, that through study seem to take energy directly from matter and direct it in a powerful beam at a target. Although they have firepower, they are not the best shots. In infantry battles, There are two main types of kresh. Workers are slow moving with 4 sharp-tipped tentacles with fingers beneath the tip. They have two large eyes, one around the neck area, and one around the lower chest area. They reproduce in spores that infect people and turn them into one of them, and are also grown by the kresh. The other type is the crawler. The crawler is essentially a giant, fast centepede that burrows underground and supprise attacks enemies. Kresh interior materials seem to compensate with them, allowing them to burrow inside  a ship.

Precursors: +??? -???
Nobody really knows what the precursors are, the only evidence of their existence is artifacts found in deep space or on dead planets all across the galaxy. All we know is that they vanished about 1750 years ago. The Iconians were the only ones around today to witness them, but they won't say anything about them.

i wrote most of that kalakarg stuff

Order Heavy guy to provide covering fire as Iconians tend to the fallen.

me thinks the precursors will come back and kill kresh
